SPEAKER_04Uh stab just posted this article about how when they added Raglan late to the tour, they had to push all the events up a day. Okay. And so we're all kind of a losers. Like the WSL's loser. I don't know who's the loser, but nobody's winning, that's for sure, because we're just missing a day.

SPEAKER_04A good surf by a day. It happened at Bells, happened again at Margaret River. How? Yeah, and it's all because they added Raglan last minute and took J Bay down.
SPEAKER_07I think also within that, uh, Isabella Nichols is missing her sister's wedding now. Again. Yeah. Uh she missed the engagement, right? Last year. And then she had they planned it around J Bay, and then they switched the contest, and now it's during the wedding. Like she just had it perfectly planned out, and she's missing her sister's wedding. Wow. Because of Ragli.

SPEAKER_07So we're all losers in this uh schedule change, buddy. It's pretty crazy. Joe Terpel stuff. He's the one who said it.

Why we like, yeah, they're good, they'll probably do good, but I'm not putting them on my team. Yeah. I'm just kicking myself.

SPEAKER_06I think that's uh all of us, myself included, that didn't pick those three surfers. When they keep showing up this year.
SPEAKER_03I would say riding any and all of the Brazilian surfers, the past two events. Yeah. Top to bottom. I mean Idolo, Gabe, you know, Phil hasn't fully turned on, hasn't been that bad.
SPEAKER_06He's the one, he's the one Brazilian. I well had Idolo, too.
SPEAKER_03Obviously, hit on you know Pupo. The Pupo's look fantastic. Jhao hasn't clicked in yet, I'm sure he will. Luana Silva. If you just stacked Brazilians, I I bet you'd be sitting pretty. It's a Brazilian storm right now. It is, it's full on. I don't know what it where the Aussie guys are, but um they're gonna be looking to come back again. I mean the shovel's almost over.
SPEAKER_07Their champion going back to winners, George Petar. Yeah. He was the only one who cut through. His lineup was Philip uh Phil Toledo. He had Leo, took out Leo, sad. Uh Iago Dora, Idolo, and then takes down Gabe. Yeah. Like what a lineup that that guy had to get through just to get the winning spot. It's like a magic trick.
SPEAKER_06Back to back. It goes straight as liquid hits the glass, turns. You can't make this up.
SPEAKER_07After watching me pour my foam back in the bottle, Josh has poured himself a glass from the same bottle.
SPEAKER_06It tastes good. It's a good tasting foam. Josh is so positive.
SPEAKER_03That's why I love you, Josh. The foam actually tastes better than the beer. Drinks these nasty beers, has a good take about it. I'll leave it at that.

SPEAKER_05It was uh 26 total points. It was just a bloodbath out there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I mean, yeah, you have to say Rob Rabbo a bit of a loser here in the home break. Just yeah. He just didn't have it. Yeah. And some of it was those conditions were weird even for him, I think. Like that those heats, the waves are pretty erratic. It favored someone like Medina, who just he just kept surfing.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Finding scores. And the shaman, he used kind of kept thinking, is there gonna be like a secret tube come out in somewhere? And it just wasn't. Yeah. Not in the cards, this event. So get on the waves. Tough for him, but he'll shake it off. And Matt, you called it. Matt called it.
SPEAKER_06When he was hanging his kid in the smoke of the opening ceremonies, they're burning their sage and whatever else.

SPEAKER_07Um, I think uh I don't know if this is a winner or loser, or it was just fun to watch, but the the excitement between Dora and Wilcox on the water. Pretty exciting stuff. Watching uh some some chatter go back and forth, ends up in the parking lot, could go down in fisticuffs. Luckily doesn't. Yeah. As far as we know. That's what happened at the bars that night.
SPEAKER_06And where's the WSL covering all the drama?

SPEAKER_07Someone tried to catch it on uh on camera, and I think they got yelled at by the Brazilian crew pretty strong.
SPEAKER_06As far as the But it comes back, I imagine this happens in any other sports league. Yeah. The league would promote it, and all the the media would promote it if you know if there was a locker room brawl at a playoff NFL game. Like, think about it. We would all know about it, it's all we'd be talking about. It'd be on every feed. Give the people. And the WSL just like puts it under the rug. This is the stuff. That's the stuff. Make your brand uh exciting. It is exciting, and you're like hiding the excitement. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07It was funny to see them so angry about something that like Yago won. Right. Like he he won, like clearly. Right. Didn't need the interference call. But it was definitely an interference. Like, all said and done, they should have called an interference.

SPEAKER_07Yeah, his team's reaction was way stronger because he was like you called out, Matt, like they were trying to like squash it. Like it seemed like Yago had chilled down, chilled out and like tried to be cool, and his team just got rile. Razos, dude.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You kind of love it though, right? We need we need a little bit.
SPEAKER_06I know, that's my point.
SPEAKER_03And at the end of the day, they all hug and make up, and I want to see so much of that.

It was like two storms washed through, it just wasn't working. Uh event moved down to Burleyhead, which is similar, but not exactly Snapper. And uh but we're back. And there's been waves of this year. It looks fun. Matt, do you surf Snapper? It's a bit of a zoo out there.
SPEAKER_04No, I never have. I've been there a bunch, but yeah, I never kind of checked it from the beach.
SPEAKER_06It looks like Malibu, but half the people in Malibu don't know how to surf. But it's like there, it's like Malibu, but everyone surfs better than you. Yeah. It looks insane.
SPEAKER_03But also, still like soft tops in a lineup, dude. It's crazy. But good. Yeah. Freaking good. Uh what are we looking at for report?
SPEAKER_04Uh it looks awesome. Yes. Yes. We're gonna start off strong and have a running good. Like an eye plus days.

SPEAKER_03Alright, QRC men's picks, sap rock, right-hander, rippable wave. It is kind of the wave that like puts everybody on to work and serve well, right? There's not right. Front side, backside, air turns, tubes. Yeah, it's everybody. It's a it's like a way pole.
SPEAKER_06You think about every clip you see is uh a guy in his or a gal on his forehand.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_06Because it's like you gotta raise the sections, okay?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So the backhand gets a huge hack, but then like it misses the sections. Or I feel like on a forehand you can connect more. That that was my processes today. Do the backhands have a disadvantage on this wave?
SPEAKER_03There's a couple guys, like you the same thing with like J Bay, like Gabe is kind of counterlier ones. It's also I think you're right. Yeah. But hasn't the backhand the backhand surfers are s seem like there's they don't they're not as at disadvantaged as maybe they used to be.
SPEAKER_05Right. I agree with that statement.
SPEAKER_03They may even have an advantage. Like Gabe. I think Gabe's turns were fine at Margaret River. Like it wasn't my favorite looking turns, but he was getting super high scores. But uh TRC Preston, singing ship, what are you thinking out there?
SPEAKER_01Uh we're talking right now. Tier C. Yeah, I'm gonna go with Mateus. Let's go.
SPEAKER_03That's a great call. High flying, good turns. Yeah. Probably had some exposure there recently on the on the CS because the Challenger Series series has been surfing here the past couple years.

One of these wild cards can go on a run and make a scene, and then it doesn't matter. But if you're like, I have no idea, this guy's already through. You're guaranteed like 30 points or something.
